Your race on General Assembly registration? |
skinnybishop |
Tonight, I was registering online for the General Assembly. One part of the registration asks you to specify your race. You can neglect to specify that information, if you so choose.
I could not help wondering why that information was requested? What does race have to do with registration, unless it is for a statistical analysis of who is attending.....I could see that, but don't really think we need stats to prove we are predominately white.
Have we always had to specify our race? I can't remember _________________ Eddie Wiggins |

I'm not going,(Unless mama says so) haven't been in years, but I would hazard a guess it is strictly for statistics. I think that would be for a good cause. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

THE LOVE OF GOD |
MY PERSONAL OPINION: Everybody, especially ministers, should make every effort to attend the Assembly. To me, it is like our government elections, we need to vote in both the government and our church elections. I have told people in our churches to vote in the elections and if you don't vote, you have no reason to complain. I am not saying this harshly, just making a point. I realize it is hard for small churches to be able to afford the expense of attending the Assembly, been there and done that. However, we do have a 2 year time frame to try to be able to get the money together. We have only been able to stay in the nearest hotel one time in our ministry and still had to walk a great distance to get to the Assembly building (that was at the Hilton in Orlando). The following year, we stayed across the street at the Red Roof and drove and parked (paid dearly) at the site. We have always cut expenses as much as possible. I think we need the fellowship with other ministers and church people. |
