 New Acts titles? |

| I was noticing according to a posters post count, a title is given to them. One of those titles being, "Belt- Jerker". I was wondering since we have two consistent female posters on the board that they might encourage more women to start posting and since most women don't wear belts, should there be feminine titles for the ladies on the board? |

| Son, I remember when OTCP coined the descriptive "belt jerker." At was in the early days a Actscelerate, probly round 2001-2002 first time I used the term. I coined the term from watchin some a the old time preachers, many a whom was a bit blessed round the mid-section (the result a way too many trips to Shoney's buffet bar). They would git to preachin in a big way, then reach down an grab their belt an situate their pants just a bit. From watchin at, I coined the term "belt jerk." |

I remember that OT!! Because it took me a while to figure out what you meant .
That was a long time ago and I remember a few dig post that I wrote about you back then... But that was before I figured out the integrity behind your post. |

I don't think we need feminine titles, though I wouldn't be opposed to a new one myself. I've only recently heard the "Golf Cart Mafia" referred to and always thought it was really stupid.
As for encouraging other women to post here...not likely to happen!

I would highly encourage it Carolyn. IF they are as sharp as you and Bonnie it would add to this board immensely. Even if they werent it would still be a plus. Anyway thats my take on the issue. |

What if you looked by your name and saw you were at the "got a new bra and panties' level? How about some gender-neutral labels instead of gender-specific?

I guess I feel like I play the devil's advocate here a lot. Lots of things expressed here I don't agree with. I have thought about sharing ACTs with some friends but I didn't want to discourage them. I was appalled when I first came here several years ago & found COG preachers talking about the freedom to drink alcohol, questioning OSAS, and putting down Perry Stone. The one female friend I told about this site quickly got disgusted with it and left.
Maybe one of these days...

Theres a few thing here that I have to really think about to. But overall there are some really good folks on this board with some very interesting takes on issues. It broadens ones perspective. I do enjoy your post though. |

Thanks, C6th. I agree that there are some awesome folks here. Sometimes I wonder why I keep coming back, but relationships (even cyber ones) are important.
I just looked at your title, C6th and see you have an honorary doctorate! I can't believe OTCP hasn't given you a hard time about that!

Carolyn, if you review the Actscelerate archives, specifically the 14,600+ posts by one OTCP, you will find them divided among three primary genres:
1. Parody: Designed to generally enjoy life and have a good time.
2. Polemic: By which myriad forms of biblical/theological error are addressed/engaged.
3. Ethics: By which the issues of ethics/integrity are enumerated.
You will find not one post where I have "put down" Perry Stone as a person or minister. What I have done and must continue to do is expose some of the extra-biblical teachings, speculation and sensationalism he and others set forth. |

The reason, Carolyn, is that C has assimilated his honery docterate into his professional life in the way this award is supposed to be utilized. It is simply listed, then those who see the listing realize that the recipient has received an award. He ain't usin the title "Dr." |
