Post Spent all day in ER roughridercog
Two sad words, "kidney stones."

I'm home, medicated, waiting for the painful passing, and in need of prayer.

I feel for you my friend and have prayed.

Now a REAL STORY:
When my dad pastored in Albemarle, NC I was in the 4th Grade and sister was in the 6th. The principal called us to the office via the PA system. When we both were there the principal was not PC.He said, "Children, I just got a call your daddy is dying, you better run home." It was about 2 miles home and we ran. WHen we got to the door, we heard dad screaming. The Doctor had just arrived. Mama held us.
The Doctor came out and said calmly, "It is only kidney stones. I am taking him to the hospital and cut them out!"

So my friend, I hate you have them and dad said it was the worst pain he ever had in his life, "BUT BE GLAD IT AIN'T 1952 AND YOU AIN'T GOT MY DAD'S DOCTOR!"

I know that don't help, but my dad was a tough guy, if he said the pain was bad, I know THE PAIN IS BAD!

Love you dude and you do have our prayers.

Largely sleepless night. In the hospital the gave me morphine for the pain. They gave my a mild oxy for pain. Morphine works better. At least I'm not moaning with pain. I told Carol that this is so unlike me. I usually have such a high pain threshold.
Forcing myself to drink of necessity and forcing myself to eat uncharacteristicly. Mad

Post Two things from my episode with stones Paul W. Nolan
Imagine laying a capital L across your bed. Allowing the smaller line of the letter to dangle off the side of the bed and the longer line of the letter to lay across the bed. Now, you become the letter L. Allow for the bend at your hips to dangle off the bed, and from the bend in your hips, lay belly down on the bed. I can't explain it, all I know is it gave me instant relief. I almost went to sleep in a couple of minutes. Make sure your legs do not support your upper torso while lying this way. The pressure on the abdomen gave instant relief as I waited for the passing of the stones.

You have already learned that only a pain killer from the morphine family actually deals with the pain of the stones. All of the others only knocked me out, but never gave relief from the stone pain.

If it will help, Jesus said this too shall pass. (Just a little biblical humor.)

I've missed Tuesday night prayer meeting and Wednesday FTH. I'm going to preach Sunday if I have to do it in a prone position. Still having pain and praying for relief or the rapture. I'd settle for either.

I know you probably won't do it, but I'm told that drinking beer helps pass kidney stones better than anything...

Maybe some non-alcoholic Odoul's or something??

My daughter in law gave me a concoction of olive oil and lemon juice. And then vinegar and cranberry juice...warmed in the microwave. I accused her of following the pet cat around...
Never saw the stone, so I don't know if it worked or not. The bed thing gave me relief, roughrider.
Whatever you do, don't let them go up after it! Nothing will be the same after that!

Just drank a shot glass of apple cider vinegar.

This might only help in the future, but I read a few years ago that lemon juice may help prevent the formation of kidney stones. I've been drinking quite a bit of 11% juice lemonade. (Maybe it works; I've never had a kidney stone and both my parents had them.)
In any case the lemonade is great when I've been mowing the yard.

Hang in there, Roughrider! Hoping it passes soon.

I guess the docs said it was "small enough" to pass? I'm sorry you are in such bad pain. Praying for you!
