Gold Dust?

I did not want to hijack the angel feather thread but the whole thing of angels feathers and gold dust is making the rounds again. I will not say that God could not do such a thing if he wanted, but I'll ask "WHY" would he do it? What's the purpose? I know someone who claims to have been in a service where "gold dust" fell and he says that they swept it up and several of them have it in baggies. He has a sandwich size baggie that he has brought out to show people. Funny thing is that baggie of "gold dust" is practically weightless. I have told him it looks and feels like glitter to me. (He doesn't like me much)

Now the real oddity. This man and his family live a very poor lifestyle. I've suggested that he take that gold down and sell it and get his family out of debt. He claims that would be "sacrilegious." Truth is, I've met numerous people with baggies of "gold dust" and not one of them has ever been willing to even have it appraised, let alone sell it. They call that faith. I call it stupidity.

Where were these people when I had my first job in outside sales as a young man? I called on every skeptic and cynic on planet Earth. Clearly I should have targeted the members of local charismatic churches.

Proverbs 14:15 immediately comes to mind.

There is a scripture that says, "This signs shall follow those who believe..." I am fairly certain gold dust is not on the list.
