The old Roughrider is riding once again |

I bought a 1989 Honda Goldwing GL1500. Granted, it needs a little help. I've nicknamed it Old Ugly. But I'm having a ball with it.
Let me give you a motorcycle riders tip. If you have a windshield on your fairing that is clouded and difficult to see through, simply put a piece of good quality clear packing tape across it, smooth out the bumps as you apply it, and then peel it off. It takes off the weathering and cloudiness immediately.
I'm also looking at converting it to a trike.
One thing that makes me puzzle is how to replace the dated am fm cassette. It sits right on top the tank and removing it leaves a huge hole that would be difficult to fill. In seriously thinking about just leaving it and putting a Bluetooth amp somewhere else on the bike and just splicing in the speakers.
Any of you ever had this problem with your bike?
Whadda ya know? A post that is not political. _________________ Doctor of Bovinamodulation |

Sorry Brother I can't help.
I'm an old school Sportster head with no fairing or stereo.
Glad to hear you are back on the road though.
Happy motoring and keep it out of the ditch! _________________ Charles A. Hutchins

Just ordered the trike kit. It will be here in three weeks. _________________ Doctor of Bovinamodulation |

Haven't ridden since the 60s. I am glad for you and I know you will enjoy putting that bike in great shape. You and mama will have a great time cruising on the trike.
BE careful and safe. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

I've seen some great deals on those old Goldwings, but I've been hesitant to pull the trigger due to the lack of availability of parts... Have you run into that?
I'd take your bike to an audio shop and see what they can do with upgrading the radio. I'm sure there's a solution.
My Dad has 2003 Goldwing that he triked. He loves it. It'll be mine one day. _________________ ---------
