Is it true that the ol red back hymnal tops the list of hymnals printed?
Who would possess that information?
How many have been printed so far?

I have no idea. But along the line of the Red BAck. I once told TN WArd I was shocked to see one of his songs in the Red back. I thought that was for the DEAD song writers. LOL

We mix the red back and contemporary songs in our services.
Works for us.
BTW, we just purchased about $1200.00 worth of new red backs, our others just wore out.

What other practical uses can the hymnal perform?
We have used our for shims, weights etc...

Yeah, I have seem them level up a piano. And used as weights as you said, "It was in a tent and they were on the edge of the tithe and offering envelopes to keep them from blowing away..
Oh yes they are/were useful in many ways. I do like it when any church throws in some of the old staple Hymns to assist in worship.
