The Lord spoke to me this morning. This is what He said |
JLarry |
1 Thes 4:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; 6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. 7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. 8 Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given[a] us His Holy Spirit. _________________ Recorded Sermons @ www.pastorwiley.com

When I was a new Christian back in the extreme early 80's, I used to read verses like these you posted and think , "I thought the early church was allot more spiritual than we are today. Surely they could not have had many problems with fornication." But then I began to study Romans chapters 7 and 8 and realized that without the Spirit of God in us, we cannot even begin to govern our carnal nature and mind, or please God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, in any century. In fact, in Acts 15 the Jerusalem elders made it clear that if one can abstain from fornication, "he does well". _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |
