| Who you put on your leadership team. I know this is a Capt Obvious statement but as a layperson that has worked with several pastors I’ve seen people who appear to share the pastors vision until on of their pet peeves or doctrines are either preached against or for and then it’s a mess. Recently I witnessed a leader and his family leave our church after the pastor refused to put him on staff. It became very messy and a lot of ugly posts on social media. I’m a firm believer of the pastor having a say in who is on the leadership team as well as the other leaders. We recruit leaders and review those that come to us willingly. I’m still naive enough to believe that God is the head and our pastor is the head shepard. |
