One of the World Missions will trade places with JDS. Cleveland gets a hold on our leaders. |

True or not, that has been a common opinion for many years..... _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Do we let them retire? |

I don't know how old any of those guys are honestly. But I know my dad is 63, and a fair number of them are older than him. Do we allow them to retire from vocational ministry and enjoy life beyond that?
I don't believe any of us retire from ministry, but retiring from the travel, the requirements, and the weight of those positions may look real appealing by the time they are 70. |

I am sure many would applaud some retirments but those fellas have to be the ones who say they don't want to serve. I do not see any of them doing that. _________________ Hate to say it, but its true

If Bishop J D Stevens goes to World Missions, which is the trend for past 3-4 Assemblies and Bishop T. Propes goes to the Executive then that would open up an awesome opportunity to vote a missionary or Field Director (many who are highly qualified to serve) with Cross Cultural experience to be the Assistant Director for COGWM. Many of us who live and minister outside the USA feel this would be an important and exceptional move for COG World wide to continue the growth of the organization. _________________ Dennis Tanner

To follow up on what Dennis Tanner has posted. Why not? Someone like, Nick Park.
Nick has the expertise and has ministered in many places around the world. He has served multiple times on the Executive council.
I'm sure there are other people who would be very qualified as well. Dennis, I would love to see this idea become a reality. |

My first thought was Jonathan Augustine, but Pastor Park would likely also do an exceptional job. |

To continue with the thought should the opportunity exist: Andrew Binda, Ken Anderson, Grant McClung, Chris Swift, and Ishmael Charles. _________________ Dennis Tanner

All of the men mentioned here are good men. However, the last time we had two missionaries as Director/Assistant, they almost bankrupted the department. I think we do a great disservice when we place a missionary out of their calling and into a primarily administrative role. We also do this when we elect someone to the Executive Committee or appoint them as an overseer because they are a good preacher.
I don’t intend to be negative. I’m just addressing what I have observed to be a reality during my 40 years of ministry in the Church of God. |

Just because someone can communicate/preach really well doesn't make them a good administrator or effective leader and someone can be a fantastic administrator but bore you to tears when they get up to speak. I would say that it is a very, very rare person that is equally gifted with both.
A great communicator, be it a pastor or overseer, is often well-served by surrounding themselves with people who are strong where they themselves are weak. A great administrator/leader can schedule or hire gifted communicators.

the primary role of WM Leadership (Director and Asst. Director) is to cast vision and raise funds and it's been proven by the past 2 administrations, stateside leadership accomplishes this much better than foreign nationals/missionaries. Let's not promote someone out of their gifting simply for equity's sake. |

Mark Williams will return to the EC. That will effectively set him up to return as GO in 2024. _________________ Socialism is a great idea until you run out of other people's money. |
