Why is the COG Asian Center (built with YWEA funds) in Makati, Manilla, being sold? |
doyle |
We have been asked to look into a story concerning a COG ministry center in Makati-Manilla, Philippines. We are told it was built with YWEA funds and may be sold. According to the information we have received, the Center has been a powerful assett to the COG.
Here is a portion of the information that has come to us. This is not an accusation that anything wrong is being done, but there are questions that need to be answered. Since so many COG congretations contributed to the building of this center, it is felt they should know what is happening with it.
We welcome our viewers to help us investigate this story. Who is pushing for this to be done? Why? We are told the center has been very productive for the COG. How much will the COG receive from the sale of this property? Where will said profit be used?
Who are the key players in this sale? Are there COG officials who will profit personally from the sale? Again, we are not making accusations against anyone - just starting the process of finding out what is happening with this Center and why.
INFORMATION THAT CAME TO US:
"The sale of the Asian Center in Makati, in Manila - built with YWEA funds - the sanctuary built and paid for by Gerry Holloway and WWCF about 20 years ago - COG WMissions is driving this sale - mega profits - displacing WWCF - displacing Asian Seminary - WWCF is one of the great sound winning stories - thousands if people won to faith in Christ - church plants all over Philippines - major cities in the world - COGWM does not resource any if this - story needs an airing - lots of stuff here requiring skilled investigative reporting, but with care for the WWCF people."
ANY AND ALL information received about this, will be held in the strictest confidentiality. My advise is to send it directly to me or have someone you trust, send it to me. NOBODY, else other than me sees confidential information sent to me; not moderators; NOBODY!

Bishop Tim Hill is the Director of World Missions. I would begin there, call him and ask about it. |

Doyle, how would you propose to get information out to the forum if you found problems did exist in the sale of property? At some point would you give the facts? |

YWEA funds have been a blessing over the world and at home in the USA, I was told many years ago by a state overseer, that YWEA funds in his state, before he came aboard had been used to benefit the state office as sort of a slush fund.
He also said that he thought it was an isolated case and in his experience YWEA had been a blessing. This SO was kin but also a great guy. He said that they had replaced the YWEA money slowly from state funds with agreement with the state board.
I am not sure what strings are attached once the money is used. I do not approve with a 'GIFT' that has strings unless they are logical normal legal strings. Mental strings, emotional strings can cause deep hurt. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Check with Dr. Mike Baker |

Dr. Mike Baker (current admin bishop of N GA...at least for the next 24 hours ) was appointed as the chairman of the board for the seminary and has spent a lot of time there working on the administrative and financial issues they face. He would know what is going...and I assure you, is protective of COG interest and YWEA investment and the continuation of a quality seminary in the area. I've heard talk a little (very little) about the need to deal with the current facilities and location of the school for the sake of improving and expanding, but never for the sake of closing or reducing. |
