Wow...bottom of the list. I guess some one has to be first and someone has to be last. |

At least we were our own group.
And, if Muslims are 3 times as likely to have a college degree as we are, then that apparently doesn't make you very smart.
Also, why didn't they check doctorates...we lead the way in those...am I right OTCP? Am I right? _________________ Whether you like it or not, learn to love it, because its the best thing going today! |

An extensive survey was conducted in 2002 by the Center for Pentecostal Leadership and Care at the Church of God Theological Seminary. The project comprised the most comprehensive research on pastoral ministry ever conducted in the Church of God, revealing the following levels of academic attainment among Church of God ministers:
1) 16% had no formal theological training
2) 9% had some theological training
3) 41% had a denominational certificate of theological training
4) 18% had a Bible college degree
5) 11% had graduate level theological degrees
6) 3% had earned a doctor of ministry degree
6) 2% had earned either a doctor of philosophy or doctor of theology degree
But, NB, if you are referencing degree mill docterates & honery docterates,
the answer is probably between almost an pert near. In this category of shamefulness the following groups probably lead the way:
1) Independents
2) Indy/Free Will/Missionary Baptists
3) Non-Denominational
4) Pentecostal groups like the AG, COG, COGOP, etc. |

Larry, I can't tell if you're being tongue-in-cheek. If you have a college degree, you (very most likely) ALSO have a high school diploma, so you have to add those numbers together. (So that puts us near the bottom of the list with respect to % with high school degree.)

Is that saying or hinting, some groups are 'smarter than others due to education levels?
I like being taught by smart folk, should I be smart enough to become a Hindu?
I figure all someone is trying to do is make me feel insignificant and also not smart......... they b too late.

Cojak, some sites have decent comments under articles, and I found some interesting comments about this. Some people were pointing out that most of the Hindus here are well educated immigrants from India. So, one has to be careful about inferences about the numbers.
Another thing I like to think about, and I know you've encountered it, too, not all "educated" people have a formal degree. |

How much of this CoG stat comes from reaching "uneducated" people? |

Hopefully, it says the COG is reaching everyone.
I think God has chosen the weak and foolish things to confound the wise. I like a message that reaches children, the poor and uneducated...sounds like God to me.
A friend sent me the link and I found it interesting. _________________ I'm not saved because I'm good. I'm saved because He's good!

7 of the top 12 have no idea who Christ is & a couple more are getting closer to that status as well.
Science & demon worship have moved them to the top in the world's view.
Proverbs 17:28 "Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise;"
What good is a Phd. if faith is absent?

Why don't you show us one of those old Barna stats about Pentecostals and Charismatics knowing their Bibles better than other groups to cheer us up. _________________ Link |
