Post The Republicans' Last Chance (with me)... Aaron Scott
If a Republican president and Republican Congress AGAIN fail to make the transformational changes needed in our nation, I don't know that I will EVER vote for them again.

George W. Bush and that Congress had their chance. Blew it.

It Trump and this Congress blow it too, I will have finally got it through my thick skull that Republicans will never, never, never stop abortion, truly fix taxes, etc. I will come to believe that they use these things ONLY to get votes, but have no real intention of doing anything.

We already have abortion, gay marriage, etc., when you think of it, there's not a whole lot more that Democrats can do to harm us MORALLY. Yes, their policies might hurt us financially (though not necessarily), but we tend to vote Republican or Democrat based on moral reason rather than financial reasons. If so, then if the Republicans fail AGAIN, should we ever give them another chance to lie to us?

I'm no longer a Republican, but I do tend to vote Republican, since they are the only party that is a going concern that has conservative values (which I suspect are not really their values).

It seems the GOP Congress is trying to make Trump fail.

Wrong.

Trump cannot pass his own agenda. Only Congress ca do that. Most of the Republicans in Congress are frauds who hate conservatives. They are still reeling from the loss of their true hero, Hillary Clinton, and are angry at their base for actually having the gall to elect someone who wants to implement the base's agenda.

I understand Aaron, but what choice do we have. We have absolutely ZERO hope with Demo's. At least we have a little hope with Republicans.

I think the answer is to replace the RINO's with true conservatives.

Unfortunately, as Tip O'Neal said, "All politics is local". In some situations, the Republicans realized they could not be reelected as true conservatives, thus they sold out. We should replace them. Eventually, we may get people that will vote the vote and not just talk the talk.

Electing Demo's or dropping out of the election process will only make it worse. Kick the bums out! My own Senator being one of them and he actually lives in my town. I hope to see him some time.

The problem with the GOP vs. the Democrats.

The Democratic party is united behind a total liberal and socialist agenda. They have spent the last 50 years expelling anyone from their party that doesn't agree with total leftist ideology, and therefore, they are now a completely united front.

Republicans are all over the map, you have the traditional big-government Northern faction of the Gerald Ford days, you have the Tea Party, you have the Freedom caucus. You have fiscal conservative, social liberals. You have social conservative, fiscal liberals (these are the old ex-democrats). You have neo-cons (McCain), you have libertarians (Paul). You have big city Republicans, you have small-town Republicans. There is a very small consensus when you have such a wide diversity in your party.

I don't know what the solution is, but the fact is, the Democrats have been acting as a cohesive unit for years now while the Republicans more closely represent a cross section of America. Sadly, that diversity, is the problem when it comes to fighting a political battle against a unified opposition.
