During an inspirational presentation at the Memorial Service for Dr. Walker, Dr. David Cooper, present Pastor at the Mt. Paran Church of God, shared how he began at the church as a teen and how his journey led to him becoming Pastor.
In the deeply personal and revealing presentation, he shared what a great impact Dr. Walker and Mt. Paran had on his life and ministry. It is a magnificent story we have never seen or heard published previously. It tells how he first came to Mt. Paran as a teen when his parents began attending.
He was not particularly happy to be there at first, but over time, the Walker family and Mt. Paran won his heart. It is also a story about hard work and faithful service.
Dr. Cooper's presentation begins at the 1:42.02 mark in the video. _________________ News & Views is a feature of the World News Network and the Actscelerate discussion Board. |

He was enormously gracious and humble. Not every pastor can be that way.
I remember one pastor (NOT any of my former pastors!) who, YEARS after a certain pastor left, and several pastors inbetween, would not permit a reunion with old members be held. Apparently, he felt that that old pastor, who had been pastoring elsewhere for years, had more allegiance at the church than he did.
They found another place to hold the reunion, but that pastor was soon gone. It wasn't due to any rumors or reports, but due, I think, to his own insecurities. |
