THE REAL REASON Resistance to Trump was SO GREAT |
doyle |
In my opinion, the Trump policies have been excellent for America. When it comes to his policies, what is there not to like? When it comes to his personality...
Until the day Donald Trump declared his run for the Presidency as a Republican, EVERYBODY loved him INCLUDING all the Democrats. They lined up to have their photo taken with him; Chuck Shumer, Nancy Pelosi, Bill and Hillary, Al Sharpton, Joe Biden, Hollywood Stars etc. The DAY AFTER he announced as a Republican, he was the ABSOLUTE DEVIL in their eyes!
THE BIG RESISTANCE
I think the big resistance to Trump was that he got in the way of the massive Globalization effort that was underway when he announced for office. Globalization was being pushed by both Republicans and Democrats. All the Elites were on-board with it.
Basically, it means that America would become part of the larger conglomeration instead of standing out as something special. Then along comes Trump with his "America First" policies.
All the way back to President Daddy Bush, there had been talk of the much-vaunted "New World Order." Like him or not, Trump upset all those plans. Personally, I think his delaying that Globalization plan, was good for America and for the Church Internationally. I don't think the Globalizers consider the Church to be part of their future plans. I believe the God of the Universe does.

The resistance to Trump among the small group of Christians is that when you look at the Fruit of the Spirit, he is opposite of each one. Some see his use of the right-wing Christian world as being a brilliant move because the majority of Christians are Christian celebrity worshippers. For example. Jentezen joins the COG and immediately gets voted into the C18. The same thing happened during Trump’s time. Even though most people don’t care for Paula White and have made fun of her, all of a sudden, she’s the queen. People like Franklin Graham and Robert Jeffress have gladly bought in thinking they mean something to Trump, but they don’t. Trump simply used them for votes and it worked. Brilliant move. Even though Trump thought most of them were wacko, he built them up for votes. Then you have James Dobson who wouldn’t vote for Romney because he was Mormon but supported Trump, like he was some sort of righteous person.
The way that some Christians have acted have cause other Christians and non-Christians to wonder what in the world has happened to preaching Jesus instead of Christian Nationalism in our churches. It’s sad to see. |

Dear Apostle -- you couldn't be more accurate! Trump used Evangelicals for votes while privately making fun of us. The celebrity Christians gave a wink and a nod to Trump because he gave them what they wanted in exchange. My fear, had he been re-elected, was that he would turn on us and go back to being the Democrat he was five minutes before he became a candidate. I voted for him twice because the alternatives were as anti-Christian as you can be. But I have never followed the Trumpsters in their undying devotion to this man. |

I disagree to point. MOST conservative candidates want the 'conservative Christian vote', and yes they court it like they try to do any block of votes. They are politicians.
Some folks say Trump is not a politician, but IMO he is, just not part of the Career Politicians. BUT now he is a Political Politician who is a loose cannon (again. MHO).
Now to the OP, IMO the resistance is generated by his GIANT EGO and his DEMAND for YES people in his inner circle. I am amazed at the times he has fired people 'who were good' but all of a sudden if they disagree with him they become idiots.
I have admired Barr since his appointment. I also respect and trust him (for some reason), but now after stating his professional opinion, he is behind the cure and has not done enough.
I still believe there will be another election in 4 years and until lately had thought it would work in the conservative 's favor, but now, I forsee Our president as a spoiler, sore loser, one who will split the vote on the next election guananteeing Ms harris's election. AGAIN just my opinion. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

There is a political pathway... |

Whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, SO LONG AS YOU STAY BETWEEN THE LINES, even if you're more to the right or left of center, all is well.
Yes, there will be some fussing and push-back and the such, but it's all rather gentlemanly.
But then Trump showed up. The first thing he did was WRECK THE EXPECTATIONS of the left. Just about everyone seemed to think that Trump was toast when it came to running against Hillary, who had been pre-anointed for the role, it seemed.
So when that happened, we already were outside the lines. Then Trump did some foolish things, and the Democrats did some foolish things.
The first STUPID thing Trump did was claim that his inauguration was larger than Obama's. Maybe it was. But who cares??? And when Trump pushed that narrative, I could not find any evidence that he was correct. But he pushed it anyway. And that left a bad taste in the mouth.
As someone has already said, Trump's policies are commendable, in my opinion, but his personally is reprehensible. It's hard to defend good policy when you always have to add, "But, yeah, Trump's words...." Or some such.
He not only went outside the lines, Trump build a new road entirely! I have to admit that, with the exception of his handling of the pandemic (where he spent more time telling us he was doing a great job than actually doing anything, it seemed), I was largely very supportive of everything he was doing.
We have to realize that Washington has certain lines it stays within. And when someone bold enough to do great things comes along, Washington doesn't hardly know how to handle it. |

OUCH! Yep, I do see that he taught name calling very well.
I just had to say that in relation to another post. Trump is a master of name calling, if there is such a thing as 'Master-of.'
Not my favorite 3rd grade trait. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!
