I keep trying to use the new site - but I log in ok - I click on reply to a topic - and it says it will redirect - then I am right back where I started.

No error msgs are given.

So when this page shuts down - looks like I am done.

Happy Trails everyone!

My computer is so old I can't get on either, so guess I will be gone too. With all the posts by a couple of people that "knows it all", doubt it will be a big loss. Acts-dicted

After browsing through the new Reddit Acts forum, I really haven’t seen any good reason to migrate to it.

Might be a better idea to use the Actscelerate page on Facebook, and allow for folks to post anonymously. Unfortunately, the Excellent Ministry of the CoG Facebook group caved under pressure from Hill and Vest to tone it down regarding all the complaints about LeeU, and the other CoG Cleveland Fb fan page has been inundated by Lee defenders.

Oh well Acts was a good run for many years. Looks like social media is becoming more and more antisocial.

Well today my reddit account started working...so I am trying to get acclimated there.

Agree QW - the Lee apologists and "Cleveland is doing great" folks - "lets keep it business as usual" - "retread all the same leaders" apologists are all out in full force.

And since those are the guys that get their full ride to Indianapolis - they will probably carry the day - while those in the outer areas and overseas will not make it there to vote - and the status quo will prevail.

So what is the reason for the move to Reddit? Hosting costs for this forum? Can someone else just volunteer to take this system over? New Member

This forum (think software) is pretty old and before too long, it will be obsolete. Shaun (who volunteers his time to run the board and pays for it out of his own pocket) has generously offered to upgrade the forum but it will require a new place to do that. (Read the thread at the top of the board about migration.) It also gives us more flexibility (I think) as well as being able to archive this site, though it will not longer be active, nor will we be able to access it. I guess it is going out on our own terms rather than being forced out when this software is phased out. At least, that's my understanding...

I hope none of you leave. Sad I am not thrilled with the Reddit site but hopefully I can figure it out. I finally replied to a post last night. I don't know what I was doing wrong but I didn't see any new posts for several days and then, BAM, there were several new ones...

If the people who post here now would keep posting, maybe it won't be taken over by those who like to post a LOT. Wink

It's going to be interesting to see what happens at the GA this year. I'm not going but hope to catch some news now & then online. I'm in the Excellent Pastors FB group but I don't post there anymore. I'm not credentialed, but I was allowed to join years ago, so now I just keep my mouth shut and glance through it when I can. There's a lot of controversy in both groups (meaning the public one) so I haven't spent a lot of time in either one.

Georgiapath - I finally figured out who JM was! LOL

I had a head slap moment. Thanks Carolyn. Yeah, the version this site is on is most likely old and needs updating. phpBB is still around.

I made two posts yesterday on the new site.
Not sure what I was doing wrong before.

Thanks to Shaun for all he does for us to stay connected.

NBF: I'm glad you figured out whatever was going on. I'd hate to see you drop off from the discussion in this community. You always add a lot. And you are welcome for helping out when and where I can. I'm happy to have been able to do my part to keep the community connected.

georgiapath: I'm sorry to hear you've been having trouble. Is there anything I can do to try to help? I would be very surprised if your computer is too old to participate. Feel free to email me if I can help. I would also be very sorry to see your name missing from this community.

Carolyn: Not seeing any new posts and then all of a sudden there being several is strange. Were you using the "old" style forum at old.reddit.com/r/Actscelerate or the "new" style forum at www.reddit.com/r/Actscelerate when it didn't show new posts?

Quiet Wyatt: I'm interested in your opinion. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on what makes the Reddit forum more social media than this forum. Certainly, Reddit has tried to become more like a social media platform, but I find their "old" style site to be pretty close to this forum.

Out of Paper: I will plan to respond to you in the other thread you commented on.

Shaun - I had no idea there were two style forums. I just followed a link and wound up under the old one, I guess. I am usually pretty computer savvy as one of the only non-techies in my family, but I feel like I am wandering in the dark on the new site. Last night I was looking for a comment I made on Reddit on one of the threads and never did find it. I'll get there eventually!

There's one at the top of the page (r/Actscelerate)

Will probably make more sense if you look at the first announcement in the first thread.

This link will certainly get you there, but I rather recommend the "old style" at this link: https://old.reddit.com/r/Actscelerate/

The difference is the formatting style of the forum. I think the "old" style is a little more familiar to most Acts-celerate users. To be clear: One link uses "www" and the other link uses "old" as the subdomain.

I sorta get the new site. I hit both, but have been pretty much out of site due to this old man NOT knowing what he can do and cannot do. I try to keep an acre of woods up and got put out of commission, trying to do more than my girl said I should. I hope everyone tries to use the new reddit site. I will definitely give it my best site Shawn is doing a great job, but no one can satisfy everybody, some pastors even learn that. LOL

I tried it but it said you have to use certain letters and etc.. I used my current The Love of God. Why can"t we be automatically added. This is frustrating. Nothing is simple on the computer.

I'm sorry for the trouble you're having. I think the problem here might be that you're trying to use spaces in your username. I recommend trying The_Love_of_God or TheLoveOfGod or similar.
