On my way to Youth Camp, I noticed the name Of "Cathedral of Praise" had been changed to "Coosa Christian".

I had some new kids and was telling them about Buckalew and his adventures in Gadsden.

Is this still a Church of God?

Cathedral of Praise

Cathedral of Praise Church of God located in Gadsden Alabama is still alive and well. Cathedral of Praise is not associated with Coosa Christian. The name has not been changed from Cathedral of Praise to Coosa Christian. Cathedral of Praise is located on the property where JW Buckalew pitched his tent in the Alabama City neighborhood and began the work years ago. Through the years Cathedral of Praise has weathered many storms and still remains strong and continues to reach the communities and neighborhoods in the Gadsden area as well as reaching beyond its borders and into the world. Ordained Church of God Bishop Mike Cleckler and his wife Marlee are the current Pastors of the Church.

Who does the sign belong to?

I am familiar with the Buckalew connection.

I was sharing his story with my youth as we drove past.

I was just used to seeing a Cathedral of Praise sign.

Is Coosa Christian a school?

Did Cathedral of Praise relocate?

Cathedral of Praise is located on Meighan Blvd in Alabama City where it has been for well over 50 years. The sign in front of the church belongs to the church. Coosa Christian is a Christian School. Coosa Christian School is located on Interstate 759 in Gadsden.

Years ago we began to use I-759 to access I-59 South.

The sign read "Cathedral of Praise".

Until this year when it read "Coosa Christian".

Now that is a fact my friend!

Cathedral of Praise Church of God has never been located on I-759.

The Coosa river flows through Gadsden, AL.

It begins in Rome, GA at the merging of the Etowah and Oostanalee.

The water does not immediately mix which is easily discerned by the contrasting color of the rivers.

Coosa is a Cherokee term.

Cathedral of Praise is located at 2703 W Meighan Blvd where it has been since the early 1990's
