"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ," Eph. 1:3
God is not waiting to bless you.
He has already "blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places" when He put us "in Christ". Jesus' perfect life and sacrifice purchased every blessing for us.
How do we access this unearned favor?
Our faith in Jesus accesses these blessings (Rom. 5:3; Eph. 2:8,9).
How do we get blessed? Believe in Christ.
What blocks us from experiencing these blessings?
When our mindset is that we somehow earn God's favor and blessing by keeping rules, we bring the curses of an old performance-based religious system on ourselves because we put ourselves back under a system that curses everything but perfect living.
"9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them. 11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith." 12 Yet the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them." 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. ." Gal. 3:9 - 12
When we believe, when our confidence shifts from our performance to His performance, we come out of that old religious system of laws and curses and received the blessing of Abraham, all every other blessing there is, by faith. _________________ I'm not saved because I'm good.
