				As I listened to the arguments for and against item #8, I tried to jot down some notes.  I could have saved myself the effort had I known Ben Wiles' statement was already in written form on the internet (the July 20, 2016 post on his blog):

I recognized the quote from Cheryl Bridges Johns from a few years back because it was a statement that stood out to me, too.
 
I really appreciated his making note that both sides of the discussion hold the scripture in high esteem and that the issue is one of hermeneutics. |
