I don't usually post links to another website on this forum. However, I just finished reading an article by Samuel Whitefield. It is the most spiritually insightful and Scripture-centered article I have read on what is at stake in this election. Whitefield articulated so well many of the stirring thoughts I have been having.

It is not a short article, but please I urge you to read it all.

You are right, it is an exceptionally long article, of his personal views:
Quote:
If Clinton becomes president and, in the process, the church recovers her prophetic voice, it will be an incredible victory for the church.
end quote,
WOW!
We have good folk here from Eddie and friends to RS and friends, covering both ends of the spectrum.

The entire article seems to ignore 'government controls' considering if either one gets in, that is it. There is such a thing as impeachment. We have certainly seen that congress can and will exercise it's authority in this area.

I miss the HUMAN LOGIC here. This is a Presidential Election. This is a country that believes in separation of church and state, we are not electing a pope, pastor or overseer. WE are electing a leader. Someone I hope that knows something about economics. Someone who has lived outside government and realizes you need a balanced budget (IMO).

These are my opinions. I am no Philosopher nor educator, but I have made a payroll. I have balanced a budget. I am not sure Ms. Clinton has, nor that she understands the importance of the same. Shocked

I believe the answer is somewhere in the middle. First of all, God is NOT worried about the election. The article is right on a lot of points but not the main reason I won't vote for Trump. Trump is just a bad choice to be at the controls of the world's most powerful military and economy. I don't believe h is protectionist, populist policies will help our economy at all. I don't believe he has a small-government mindset about much at all, he thinks government is there to fix our problems (security, health, jobs). I think he would argue with Reagan against the idea that the best government is that which governs least.

As to Cojak's point about not electing a pastor, I've always agreed with that to a certain extent (it doesn't apply to an outright devil). But if Cojak's assertion is true, and we should elect the one better suited to run a country, then Hillary should be president. Shocked (and that's not because I agree with very many of her positions at all, its because I don't think she would run us straight into the ground,,, just gradually like we have been the last 8 years Sad )

I was going to vote for Gary Johnson because I am at heart a libertarian (lower-case L). But they chose the worst candidate they could have during an election that could have let them take the lead! They should have begged the Pauls to come back to the party.

I think I'll set this one out and just trust God to fix our mess that was created in July (November is just a formality this time). There is literally no good choice. What the one does better than the other is cancelled out right down the middle.
