Din't wanna hijak the Cruz thread, but the same protocol diakoneo describes above can also be used validate the legitimacy of a school, and thus confirm the legitimacy of a touted degree.
For example, I was lookin at the credentials (and the name a the school they list where they earned em) listed by a few a our COG fellers recently an it was kinda "Strange" what is and what aint found in a Google search a the schools. See fer yaself, here is a little samplin from the many:
