Post How did the last Gen. Assembly change the way you minister? Tim Finlayson
Did any of the rulings or decsions from the last GA change the way you pastored or led your ministry? Do think anything on the agenda this year will change the way you lead your local church?
If so what? If not, whats the point?

Hey, Tim, son, I looked at ya website an it says "Brevard Worship Center: A Word of Faith Church."

1. Are you affiliated with the COG?

2. When you say "A Word of Faith Church" are you speakin specifically of Word of Faith doctrine/teaching/theology as in the worldview of Copeland, Hagin, etc.?

Yes, I preach faith.
No, I am no longer credintialed in the COG. I was asked to either bring my present church into the COG or forfeit my Creds. I choose to not bring my Church into the COG.
Now, If I had called my CHURCH a "Ministry Center" who knows what would have happened.

Tim, thank ya fer respondin. Upon closer lookin at ya website I did notice that you advertise that your church is a Kenneth Copeland Ministry Partner.

1. Since you aint COG, I can't help but wonder why the GA an its outcome would be of interest to ya.

2. Fer the life a me, son, I can't figger out how ya went to Lee an ended up embracin WOF theology an become connected with Copeland. The ole timer is settin here in sackcloth/ashes tryin to figger out what went awry.

Well, I guess I don't need to know. I will live without the information. I didn't know the rules of of discussion on Acts had changed. If I ever am a part of the COG again, I will return to post and glean from the great minds here. Thanks. Acts Enthusiast

'At don't sound like no way ta talk fer a WOFer (er maybe it does Confused ). You made a post an ast a question, then Ole Timer ast some questions. Now, if a person don't wanna answer your question, why, they just skip on to tha next post. An iffen you don't wanna answer Ole Timer's questions, why, ya just skip it.
But if ya ain't ashamed of who what ya stand for, it seems like ya might be glad ta answer.
As far as the great minds here, well, each person has his gift.

Post I'll tell you Tim Ernie Long
without attacking you, which seems to be the standard for some on this board.

I Pastor a typical CoG. We struggle financially, the people love God and their church, we have less than a hundred members, I am looking for employment outside the church, because the church isn't able to support me financially, the closest CoG to me is in another state fifty miles from me. We aren't involved in state functions, for the most part, we don't hear from the State Office unless we don't include a check with our report.

The only thing that will change in my church by what happens in the Ga is if it votes to do away with the ToT, my church will have a little more money in the bank and I won't get a call from a secretary in the State Office telling me I didn't send a check with our monthly report.

Unless you truly are sitting in sackcloth and ashes, then you're lying. So, do you preach it's okay to lie if you're pretending to do or be something that you're not? (like an old time preacher from Kentucky) Which in it self is a lie also.

I much rather be associated with someone who believes God is able in all things than a liar.

Ernie, you're not attacking Old Time Country Preacher are you?

Ole Timer told us he is a parody. That means he is playing a part like one might do in a Christmas play. Just because you wear a bathrobe and a towel on your head and say, "Let us go even now unto Bethlehem..." doesn't mean you actually ARE a shepherd. And when you go across the church stage to the manger scene instead of across the Atlantic to the actual Bethlehem in Israel, it doesn't mean you were lying when you said let's go to Bethlehem.

When did a direct question become an attack, anyway?

Love ya, Ernie, an prayin ya will find a job an all needs are met.

A little review of the components of literature might clear some stuff up fer ya. OTCP is a parody.

I do wonder why folks that are no longer COG care what happens at the GA.

It doesn't make any sense.

As for believing Copeland stuff - Tim is not alone. They are our brothers and sister anyway. So I hope Tim continues to post here.

I'm not technically in the COG anymore, but as a 4th gen COG born-and-raised, I care a lot. I also have a lot of family and friends still in it, and won't rule out returning (I still visit). So I can understand people still being concerned.

Post Parody? Is that what they call rudeness/hatefulness now? Aaron Scott
OTCP, you are harsh and often hateful, but you aren't stupid. I wonder if you have ever had a thought about a church you used to attend? You know, one you weren't a member of any longer?

Rotten, man.

You didn't have to do that to Tim, nor many of the other things you hide behind your own personal cloak of maliciousness. I'm sure I'd like you in person. But I don't really care for what you do as OTCP.

Yes, they are.

I have a friend whose daughter died from cancer - all the while believing they needed to have faith that she was already healed (even while hospice came) that God was going to raise her up. He prophesied that God was going to heal her and have a great testimony...all the stuff Copeland teaches - he believed 100%.

I wept bitterly with him at her death - not just from him losing a daughter - but for his faith to remain.

Recently (but 20 years removed from his daughters death) - I saw him again. He told me how much I meant to him in those times - I related to him some things that he had said to me that helped me in my life.

We wept again - for joy this time.

So, yeah, he has always been a brother. I feel he had not figured everything out - and neither had I (still haven't).

We both believe in Jesus.

We're brothers - always.
