Post Independent Baptist Uncle's Vision Link
One of my uncles is a retired pastor from a KJV-onlyist church. At my other uncle's funeral today, he told about remembering his mother praying for his two oldest brothers' safety in WWII (one of whom was decased.)

Then, this uncle who was sharing the sermon today, told that when he went to pick my aunt up when she was working a night shift (back when she was doing a Rosie Rivitter type job... she just passed away a year or so ago at 92), he saw something in the Sky.

He saw the stars spell out the word 'VICTORY'. My uncle made a mistake and left out the letter T when he described it. From what he said, he attributed this to the Lord.

I didn't get a chance to mention it to him, but I found it interesting that my Independent Baptist uncle had had a vision.

I'm thankful for my Baptist family heritage. My great-grandfather on my father's side as a Baptist pastor. Two of my uncles were Baptist pastors. One of my first cousins on that side of the family pastored a Missionary Baptist Church, and the son of one of my other first cousins is some kind missionary in Alaska with a contemporary format Baptist church, where he'd served as a music minister. I think his dad, who married a cousin of mine, may have been a youth pastor or equivalent. If not, he's very active in church. I think a female first cousin married a man who became a Presbyterian missionary in a neighboring country to where I've lived before.

One of my first cousins was the son of an uncle who died with I was about 4 who'd married and divorced four or five women in different cities as he went around starting different businesses. He hadn't met all of his brothers and sisters probably until he was in his 60's. He told me about them and what they did for a living. One of them had married a pastor. He thought he was Church of Christ.

I asked, "Did she not get the Baptist gene"?
