John 16:21 A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.
Romans 2:9 tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek;
2 Corinthians 2:4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you, with many tears, not that you should be grieved, but that you might know the love which I have so abundantly for you. _________________ I'm not saved because I'm good. I'm saved because He's good!

Amen Brad... when we touch His heart for the lost, we will experience His anguish, and when we pray in that anguish, with many tears, and see the person saved and delivered, that anguish will give way to great joy. |

David Wilkerson or Seeker Friendly: Who is Hearing From God? |
Preacher777 |
I am not one to ask others to read books, listen to videos etc. My time is almost always reading the Bible but I will listen to a teaching when driving, doing mundane administrative work etc.
THIS VIDEO IS WORTH 7 MINUTES OF YOUR TIME. It was sent to me about a month ago and I was going to get around posting it but thank you Dave for beating me to it. Often when at prayer meetings I feel a sense of urgency and anguish in my spirit for the lost and also for the church in America (God will judge who is saved).
I like to deal with reality and try to be humble in speaking the truth in love. Often in the ministry one may choose the easy way and avoid conflict rather than dealing with the facts. We all know David Wilkerson had a very negative opinion about the seeker friendly movement.
I challenge anybody and ask your opinion to consider two factors here. I have been around both camps on a personal level (those pastors, churches and people preaching the David Wilkerson philosophy of ministry versus the seeker friendly model).
Question 1: Which group of people has more passion to pursue and prioritize holiness, prayer, fasting and Bible reading in their personal lives? I am talking about facts here from my personal experience. Which mature Christians from either camp enjoy discussing the Word of God in our personal fellowship times versus talking about sports, entertainment, politics etc? Which group is more likely to be excited when we call for times of intercessory prayer for souls without teaching, music etc?
2. Listen to David Wilkerson here or in any random You Tube sermon then listen to the popular seeker friendly preachers. Who do you discern has the anointing and presence of God in their ministry? Hopefully all pastors pray and search the Word for their messages but who do you discern has spent quality time with Him in prayer and the Word?
I ask this in a spirit of humility and would appreciate any objective feedback. I am not saying every Wilersonite is extremely spiritual and more committed to God then every seeker friendly Christian/church/minister. I am saying I see, discern and have experienced some realistic trends in these areas. |

In the first place, there are no "seekers" out there. Romans 3 is clear that "there is none who seek after God". They might be seeking some spiritual high or enlightenment, but they are not seeking the God of the Bible. Thus they must be shown their sin by the Law to cause them to sigh and pant after the righteousness that is only found in Christ. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

"You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart."
Jeremiah 29:13
The verse you quoted above says "all have turned aside" as in our sin nature. No one could approach God because all were sinners.
Now, thanks to the Cross, we can seek him with all our heart. |

I agree. But all I am saying is that most of these "seekers" we are trying orient everything around are not seeking God. Rather they are seeking an "experience". They are much like the rich young ruler. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |
