Service animals in your services |
roughridercog |
I saw something interesting last night. I've seen many seeing eye dogs through the years, but last night in service I saw a man with a small dog with the vest identifying him as a service dog. He was leashed and didn't bark at all. I don't know what "service" the little dog performed, but I'd never seen one of the little ones in church before.
Do you have them in your church regularly? Have any problems caused by them? _________________ Doctor of Bovinamodulation |

I took a PhD seminar in structural equation modeling. One of the classmembers, who I think had some kind of doctorate but wanted to know SEM brought a little service dog with him. He told me he had seizures and he said he could get service dog status for the dog because if he took the dog with him, it kept a certain part of his brain occuppied remembering where the dog was, which reduced the chance of having a seizure. _________________ Link |

I was raised with the idea that animals belong outside, at least where we lived. We had a dog for several years, but we kept him outside. My family gave him to a cousin of ours when we moved.
I do not care for the idea of sitting on upholstered pews covered in dog hair. It might not be bad if everything were made of wood. I wouldn't want to hang out with the fuzzy cats that cause eyes to itch. They have irritated my eyes on occasion and one of my children is allergic, though she loves cats. It's funny if churches become peanut free zones, but bring in the animals.
If they do this, they have to draw the line at cats. _________________ Link |

We have two church people, a couple and a solo lady, that never come to church without their dogs. It's almost like the dogs, both smaller types, are mascots. _________________ Live an epiK life!

We have one - he is the most reverential member of the church.
I have seen him lift his paws during prayer. _________________ Whether you like it or not, learn to love it, because its the best thing going today! |

If the dog has ordination credentials from ULC.org, then it may be difficult to tell the ordained dog he can't attend. |

This was a really nice service. They do it one time per year. It could be a great outreach to the millennial community. https://youtu.be/MbBgQ2NCBhs |

We had one huge veteran who had a service huge service dog. He had a chair at the rear and that dog (of course) was well mannered. Too many fol wanted to pet him. He was never a problem.
I think the 'idea' is over blown. There are people who are allergic to dogs and I see a big problem with them in restaurants and Ice Cream shops etc.
That is probably just my problem. But I heard one lady with a service dog say the cruise ship she went on would not allow her dog so she had to leave it during a 7 day cruise. Logic tells me that lady does not need to take her dog to Lowes, Walmart nor to church.
Just sayin', I think it is over blown. (NOT THAT IT IS NOT BENEFICIAL IN SOME CASES) _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!
