I read the source https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html

It states simply that 4434 people out of 259 MILLION people who were vaccinated, have died since taking the vaccine. Given a control 6 month timeframe, I'm pretty sure that is about as many as would die out of the same number of people without taking anything. The article states that the J&J bloodclots are the only deaths directly linked to the vaccines. (I'd definitely steer clear of the J&J one).

The 21 year comparison seems pretty simple to explain, there have not been 259 Million people vaccinated for ANYTHING (at least not anything on this scale) in the last 21 years. Most likely the average elderly person dying within a few months of a flu vaccine aren't going to be reported to VAERS.
