Hey! Our new web site is up and running.
It's not completely finished but it's close enough.
Which means the online donations function is operating. lol
Y'all take a look.

Looks good Andy. If I might make one suggestion regarding the design, you might want to get your website administrator to change the title of your home page from "home" to "Summerville Pentecostal Worship Center". This will help people find you in the search engines. It's a very simple fix with html tags and will help people find you. |

I would add a link to your location. I know that you can go to the bottom of the page for contact info, but that could be an office in a different location. Looks good. |

i go to many church web sites as we travel. I like your service times and address displayed prominently. I would not have to hunt the information. Good stuff. Glad you have the online giving, I wish our church would do that,
Good post. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Andy, I only got two suggestions:
1. If you would change the name to Summerville Church of God Pentecostal Worship Center it would enhance ya website a heap.
2. Under the tabs where it says "Church Officers," ya might wanna change at to "Ministry Team" or some cutting edge term like "Epic Servant Volunteers."
Other n at, hey, it looks good. |

You know we could.
There is no Summerville Church of God anymore.
The good pastor changed the name to "New Generation Christian Church". _________________ Charles A. Hutchins

That's so nobody will know it's COG
Seems like nobody wants to be associated with the name anymore, wonder why? |

Just tried the on-line donation jobber do. It must not be on line yet. I was checking to see how it worked.
Will try later.
Also there was no * beside Phone # but the form said it was required. I had left it blank, but I went back and filled it in. Then got the note that you were not receiving donations yet.
I know you are gonna have a couple bugs bringing it on line, good luck it is looking good.

1. Why is your photo gallery heavy to one event that is hard to understand? There is no explanation of men and children pouring bottles over rocks with SPWC KIDS. Might want to be broader in showing church life.
2. Why endorsements? Would Joe Johnson or Sylvia Smith look at your website and be moved by the persons listed?
3. The story of the beginning of your church seems to be rooted in pain (actions of denomination) which is unnecessary communication to the public in light of your present day vision. That history could be very truncated.
4. Church Council names aren't necessary for public information (Your website is your face to the world) and yourself/staff need clickable bios, statements, photos to be more than just information and to be human. _________________ Live an epiK life!

I don't know Phil, as I read #3 it didn't seem to dwell on the pain. This is history. I might add, I didn't see it as a cheap shot (my word) but simply history.
On #2 I would say 'possibly' What does it hurt?
Just my looking at the site from a neophytes view, I don't know the 'rules' in this case.

I didn't say he dwelt on it. I said it wasn't necessary for public consumption and, to further, the history could be truncated.
Might not "hurt" but websites are to help, not just be neutral deposits of information.
A church website has two major functions...to inform and to inspire a desire to experience. A website is a calling card to a community. We exist for (fill in the blank) and are here to help you (fill in the blank.) I was just trying to be helpful. There was no critical spirit, and since I am not in a place of authority, simply an attempt to be helpful. _________________ Live an epiK life!

Hey Phil.
Thanks for the constructive criticism.
Cojak, we still got bugs to work out.
The website is for informational purposes, to answer basic questions about our Congregation.
To define our identity.
In our location, a web site does not affect attendance.
We depend on the Holy Spirit for that. _________________ Charles A. Hutchins

Andy I love you and support you no matter what what. We have been friends for so long I don't remember. But I would leave out the "history" part of your website. I agree with Phil- while it is a part of your story , new people don't need to know that. I hope you bust out and outgrow your current facility brother !!! |

Andy I agree with the last poster.
I too have had my battles, but I would leave out the negative part of your history.
He is right, new people do not need this info.
The Lord apparently used a bad situation to bless you and your congregation, rejoice over what He has done. _________________ Recorded Sermons @ www.pastorwiley.com

We believe in transparency.
Wait until our financial report is added.
Our story is what it is.
To my knowledge it hasn't ran anyone off yet. lol _________________ Charles A. Hutchins

I didn't like that book too well. But that was Ford's attitude. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!
