Who still defends the Bushes? |
Resident Skeptic |
In light of recent revelations, who is still fixated on Trump's loose tongue instead of the Clinton crimes which the Bush family endorsed by their votes for Clinton in 2016?
GHW Bush did not campaign for re-election in 1992. It was obvious then he was taking a dive for Bill Clinton. This week he announces that he and Barbara voted for Hillary in 2016. GW claims he voted for "none of the above", but why should he be believed? I wonder who Jeb voted for? I wonder if Jeb's plan was to lose to Hillary?
But not a peep from the Trump haters on this board who exalted the Bush crime family in recent posts. I will be embarrassed for you since you guys do not have the good sense to be embarrassed for yourselves. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

I was heart-broken when I found out that Barbara was pro-infanticide. I was shocked once again when I found out that Laura, whom I thought to be a classy, Christian woman, was too. After that, nothing that I hear about the Bushes surprises me anymore. Reagan should never have agreed to run with him, it was only to appease the big-government, northern, Ford Republicrats. I'm torn in my feelings about W, I believe he was a great president, especially during the 9/11 crisis. But if you add up the conservative accomplishments of 12 years of Bushes, it really doesn't top the Clinton years.
I think whoever pulls the Bush's puppet strings must have wrote Senior's book for him. |

Those who want to overthrow the very founding principles of our nation have gone to allot of trouble to frame that "scumbag" for crimes he did not commit, all because he stands against their agenda. That "scumbag" might have, at the very least, slowed down your descendants living under authoritarian rule. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

Not really a fan of any of the Bushes anymore. So much of what W did led to what Obama did. Massive government overreach. Wars with no end, big brother, new cabinet post, ethanol, deficit spending, additions to Medicare, Republican President, congress and Senate yet nothing done about 9 month abortion.
I wouldn't have traded W for Algore though no way no how! |

I thought of the George H. Bush as someone I would have just been barely able to stand to vote for. I was not old enough to vote for then. I was slightly less unenthusiastic about his son. I admit, I held my nose and voted for Romney.
I'd been praying that Hillary Clinton would never be president. I definitely was not going to vote for her. _________________ Link |

I was disappointed that Trump took personal attacks too far on his opponents, in the primaries. But primary season it has been mostly the same, Nasty things said about opponents, But as a norm they lick their wounds and hold the 'party line' for good or bad that is what the Bushes expected and got in their elections.
Former presidents usually keep to them selves what they think of the present administration remembering the tough decisions one must make there. I was proud of the bushes for that during the Obama admin.
But yes, now I am very disappointed in the actions of the Bush family. And to answer your one question about W, sure I believe he took a none of the above or left it blank. I have no reason to doubt it. Doesn't make any difference anyway, neither voted for the nominee.
I am sick of the Media, I am sick of politics and I despise a broad-brush investigation at the expense of the taxpayers. In the case of the indictments for money laundering, etc, that should have been quietly turned over to the justice department and then continues with this GREAT search for complicity. WHICH I am sure will be found (one way or the other!)
Politics has reached a new low and Trump , the Bushes and other former government employees are doing their best to ASSist.

My Argument about Trump is About Behavior |
FG Minister |
Most of the Trumpsters on this board feel, for some reason, that those of us who dislike President Orangutan, are somehow in favor of the policies of Presidents Bush 41 and 43. Sorry, no. My discussion isn't about the policies of these people -- just their behavior. I believe the Bushes behave more like presidents than Mr. Trump. That's all I am trying to convey.
My statement is a simple, stand alone statement - I don't like President Trump's behavior and I'm very tired of evangelicals looking the other way as if behavior doesn't matter in a President. The easy throw away line is - "I didn't vote for America's pastor, but for America's President." OK, that's fine. But a president's behavior matters.
I like most of Trump's agenda, but his own behavior is keeping it from passing. For some reason, these congresspeople don't like being called names, so they push back and don't support the Orangutan-in-Chief. He can't even get people to serve in the government because potential employees despise his behavior. All I am saying is that Trump is Trump's worst enemy and he needs to learn that.
So please stop saying that those of us who don't like Trump's behavior are somehow supporting Mrs. Clinton or other democrats. It also doesn't mean I liked the Bushes. It just means that Mr. Trump's behavior is abhorrent and he can't blame anyone but himself if his agenda fails. He can even get the swamp to support him on some issues, if he'll behave like a civil adult. It's been done before.
We need a leader -- not a guy who blames everybody else (democrats, media, republicans, Jeff Sessions, Rex Tillerson, Planned Parenthood, Joe Scarborough, etc. etc.). So Mr. Trump, please lead; act like a grown-up; realize everybody isn't going to like you; stop blaming everybody; stop calling people names; act like a President, and start getting things done. |

What it conveys is pettiness in light of the dangers facing the nation and Trump being the only Republican President with the will and courage to face them. Accept it. We've reached a point where we will have to support a man with a "let it all hang out" disposition , but who will aggressively call-out and go after that which is destroying the USA. Who cares how the Bushes "act" if they are aiding and abetting our enemies, both foreign and domestic? You are so enamored with how they act that you don't realize that's what it is, an act.
Basically what I'm saying is you must not really see the danger we are in or you would be applauding Trump instead of putting him down. We waited for the polished crowd to do something, but it turned out they were in bed with the enemy. Get off your self-righteous high horse and join the fight. This is not about Trump, to begin with. It's about stopping evil people from destroying what must be preserved for future generations. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

I Have Poked the Bear! |
FG Minister |
Oh my! My dear brother, once again you are not understanding my argument. I will try once more. Let me approach it a different way. You like Trumps policies. Right? You want Trump to succeed. Right? You want him to succeed on the wall, immigration, taxes, North Korea, NATO and even more. Right? Up to this point, I think you and I both agree. Please admit we are in agreement at this point and don't be so defensive.
Here is my opinion -- if Trump behaved by tweeting less, not calling names, and not mimicking people -- he would be more likely to get his agenda passed. That's what I am trying to convey to you. If you truly like Trumps agenda, you should want the others in Congress to vote for it - right? Well, they are more likely to vote for it when Trump stops calling them clowns, or a whole variety of other names he calls them.
I disagree with you totally on this point - actions DO matter. They matter when it comes time for the congressmen to vote. The 535 people he is trying to win, are more likely to support him if he is reasonable and behaves like an adult. Mr. Trump is an absolute embarrassment because he is so thin-skinned. And he will fail in his agenda if his actions don't change. I should think you would agree with me if my premise is correct.
However, if you don't think his name-calling, his tweeting of insults and all the other offensive things he says are hurting him from getting his agenda passed, then I can see where you would disagree with me. If you are correct -- let Trump unleash his words and tell them what he really thinks. Let him unload with both barrels and let those swamp-dwellers have it! It makes for great TV and it is red meat to the Trumpsters -- but as a practical matter, it won't work. They won't support him. The guy you love so much will fail. What's that old saying we've all quoted -- you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar... |

In the first place, he has toned down his rhetoric considerably. Yes, he uses Twitter to push back. But I and others view this as a positive. FINALLY we have a POTUS who does not let the left walk on him.
As for his agenda, It still amazes me that you believe Congress would back his agenda if he was nicer. It is the agenda they hate. Trump's antics are secondary. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

I think he is talking about Trump, but yeah, it did seem a little odd that FG Minister is carrying on about being civil, all the while name calling the president.

Oh goodness, thank you so much for the clarification. That is obvious from the context now.
IMO, I agree with your point, but the significance decreases substantially if it's referring to President Trump rather than President Obama. |

I will not read past his derogatory name for the POTUS. I would have blasted anyone for doing this to the worst president in history, Obama, I don't care what his point is, especially for someone who claims some moral highground based on manners. |

My Strategy Worked!! |
FG Minister |
I decided to call President Trump an Orangutan to make my point to all the Trumpsters, and I have succeeded! You have made it clear - YOU DON'T LIKE NAME CALLING! It is offensive and people shouldn't do it! I only wanted you to see how you defend Trump and look the other way when he does it, but you come down hard on anyone who disagrees with you. You like Trump, so its OK. You don't like what I have to say, so I'm wrong for doing it. Thanks so much for proving my point. I guarantee you if President Obama had used the language and the name calling that President Trump has, all you Trumpsters would have been apoplectic about it. But since Mr. Trump is your man - it OK for him to do it. Please be consistent in your hypocrisy! |

Don't count me in your victory lap. You are getting flustered about Trump calling people names who most likely should be imprisoned for treason. And please do not pretend that it was not YOU who was being the hypocrite. I see through your pathetic effort of deflection by claiming you were trying to paint some sort of object lesson for us by calling Trump a name. Nice try, though. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

And you never read a single post I made so that proves you like to toot your own horn for no reason at all. I am no "Trumpster", I didn't vote for him in the primary, yet because I think we should unify while we still can you spout off about untruths and make assUMPTIONS. Keep it up, it makes no difference. |

I don't know about that. I'm not a "Trumpster." I did not vote for either major party candidate.
And it's not that I mind all name calling, lol, but there is context. In the first place, Acts has a policy of no name calling. In the second place, if someone is carrying on about how bad it is, he seems hypocritical if he does it. So, your strategy (if that was indeed what you were doing), doesn't prove that people don't like name calling, but it might mean that people don't like name calling from someone who calls himself a minister who claims that uncivil discourse is counterproductive.
