We lean to government instead of Jesus and this is sad for Kingdom people. There are no boundaries in Christ Jesus.

Eddie, do you minister to any group, any group of humans whatsoever of 'those people' on a regular weekly basis?

.

Nice job of deflection. Whether or not he has a ministry to them has no bearing of the refugee situation.

I see three options for evangelicals in this election and none of them include voting for Trump. Evangelicals can morally justify a protest vote for a third party, not vote at all, or join the 30%+ of evangelicals saying they'll vote for Hillary Clinton.

No Christ follower, Phil, can biblically justify voting for Hillary Clinton. In the words of a ole hymn, "NO NOT ONE, NO NOT ONE."

No but it's the same tired argument I hear from "Christians" when the refugee subject is brought up.
1. Do you have a ministry to them?
2. Are you going to open up your house so they can live with you.

Both are asinine and have no bearing in on the issue.

Of course not. That is the point. They are not allowed to be here. The good Christian Republican people are complaining about the possibility of them coming.

So because the people are not where you are you cannot have a regular place where you minister to people in some kind of capacity?

Believe it or not some of us live in places where families migrate into our society from all over the world & they do receive ministry Eddie. And we are a CoG congregation that 'IS' full of the power of the Holy Ghost. It is a huge challenge for a church to reach out to do this kind of work but you don't know anything about that i Guess?

Now I may not do what Mother Theresa did but we do as much as we can with our own limited resources. So next time you take a general swipe at the whole group keep in mind that there are some who are on the front lines of ministry right here in California who are already in the mission field & we haven't complained yet nor have we turned 'those people' away!

So Patrick, with all of your vast wisdom regarding this subject do you have something (a ministry) that you contribute to people's lives every week on a regular ongoing basis? You know, people who are not of your social/economic background?

And just because I took issue with Eddie's comment had no bearing on you whatsoever.

You'd be surprised who I actually have a ministry to each week. I have a fairly broad spectrum of people groups.

No I'm only surprised when people have no ministry to anyone at all other than themselves.

And if I may ask since you posted it, what kind of ministry do you do with your people groups?

It always turns into something personal. How about discussing the subject without going personal? My life has always been an open book here. The subject concerns Syrian refugees. I answered the question. I do not minister to them. I'm not aware of any being here because of such a stink put up by conservatives.

I have several ministries that, by the way, I'm not paid for. In fact, I do the paying.

I didn't name you Eddie so I wasn't necessarily referring to you. If you took offense I'm sorry but it wasn't intentional.

We do have Syrian refugees here, but you do realize that their country has no state department ...right? If they have no state dept. how are they supposed to be properly vetted?

It's not a conservative issue as in prejudice ...it's about accountability. HRC wants to bring in over 1,000,000 Syrian refugees, where do you think they should live & how will we support them when we cannot even rescue people from poverty in our own inner cities?

You & other Trump haters will soon be getting use to the definition of the words 'social engineering' coming soon to an America near you!
Your kids will cry when they see their kids come home with Common Core homework!

I realize my audience so the rant is on pause!

This is one of the most Biblically faithful statements I have ever read on this site. Thank you for posting.
