Quiet, soft-spoken COG man led thousands to Christ |
doyle |
If you were ever blessed by the COG Ministry To The Military, and thousands around the world have been, there is an important name to remember.
He was a Sergeant in the Army and when at various duty stations around the world, he began having worship services for the military members in his area. He literally had Godly influence around the world. From some of his preliminary work, there arose the COG Ministry To The Military.
I believe there are thousands of people who were saved through this powerful ministry and other thousands who have received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. What he helped start became one of the most effective COG outreaches with thousands headed for heaven because of it.
That's his daughter Lena in the photo too. His name is in this photo http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=752801383496&set=a.574356293886.2096764.66504895&type=1&theater

A sharp salute to a man like this. I never knew him, but I did know men like him. Also Pastors who held the service man dear. We have at least one pastor here on Acts who watches his church change monthly by orders. It can be high and it can be low, but the pastor stands there firmly backing the service man spiritually. One pastor stands out from the Biloxi COG, C.H. Matthews who was later a missionary.
Thanks Doyle for reminding me of Men I have known who loved the lord and wore the uniform proudly.
So may God Bless the family of this Sgt. and cause the hundreds/thousands he Blessed to pause and Thank God for the love and support. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!

Ministry to the Military |
Theodore Ballard |
I did not have the privilege of knowing this man, but thank God for ministry to the military. I came into the Church of God while stationed at Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, AK, invited by a Sergeant I worked with. The K Street Church of God in Anchorage was made up of mostly military families.

He is Roy Humphrey. He truly was an inspiration to so many people. I had the privilege to know him and he inspired me on every meeting we had. I have never met a more passionate and energetic man in my life. Well into his 70's his passion for ministry and seeing lives changed challenged me to be more. He leaves a legacy and in his wake countless lives that have been forever changed through the power of God. A man worthy of any and all recognition he receives.
