 Sodom and Gomorrah...why did God destroy it? I hear it was |

because they did not entertain strangers such a refugees. Therefore the left equates anything other than open borders as being along the lines of S&G. I have further heard the left say that the whole point of the OT is to entertain and welcome strangers. Yes, this is what is going on out there. At the same time, those using the OT and NT at their disposal don't really embrace a whole lot of anything that I term righteous behavior.
So, have we missed it all this time with Sodom? |

Since the left's idea of "entertaining" is closely tied to the city's namesake, then I'd say they need to rethink their position paper. Its very interesting they would refer to Sodom on this topic and avoid it at all costs on the other one.
In other words, a "Sodomite" is not a person who is unwilling to entertain someone. |

Oh yeah, I get it. They are laughable, and I'd immediately take them to task on the etymology of the word Sodomite as rebuttal (no pun intended) to their asinine (ok, pun intended) claims. |

The treatment of the "heavenly messengers," including the attempted homosexual rape, was witness to the righteousness of the judgement. Those who would say this is a matter of welcoming "refugees" fails on all points - the angels were not refugees, the city was judged before the angels arrived and not even Abraham could stop their destruction.

Would that be "Gay Pride" as to their interpretation, while they overlook the referred to "abominations" of the passage - and judgement?

It seems that pride or haughtiness led to the demise of Sodom and Gomorrah.
As the Word teaches again and again. Pride goes before a fall, humble yourself and He will exalt you...etc. But do not discount "the detestable things" done before Him as a the reasoning for the method of their destruction(as you have seen).
The USA is not immune from the wrath of God for we (many of us)too have grown arrogant are overfed and unconcerned...I believe this along with idleness and laziness has led to many wicked practices, LGBTQ, the prevalence of pornography and perversion, easy divorce, broken families, rampant drug/alcohol addiction, entertainment addiction, etc. It seems that God will not have to use such means as with Sodom for as Israel self destructed and other nations, we are headed in that direction. It seems our only hope is a good whipping.
One thing is certain, politics is NOT the answer! |
