When you have guaranteed a set amount for a speaker or singer, do you let the congregation know this?

I thought about this when Da Sheik made his comment about groups not demanding a set fee when they come to sing.
If your church is going to pay $1000 from the general fund anyway, do you let the people know or do you let them think that the singers will only get what is taken up during the offering for them?

If a set fee is negotiated then we tell the congregation. We never give the entire offering to a group or speaker.

Not sure that I know a group or speaker that is worth 1000.00 for a short appearance.

Post Da Sheik
We always communicate the arrangement to the congregation. We don't have a lot of singing groups coming in, but we rarely do the "love offering" model. But never, under any circumstances, would I lead the congregation to believe they were receiving only a love offering if they were guaranteed other remuneration. Acts Enthusiast
