Post Finally he said something that makes sense... Cojak
Trump said this at a rally in Charlotte, NC:

"Sometimes in the heat of the debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don't choose the right words or you say the wrong thing," Trump said in his speech. "I have done that, and believe it or not I regret it. And I do regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain. Too much is at stake for us to be consumed with these issues."

*****************************

Maybe someone has gotten to him, at least from my seat, I am glad to hear him say that. (Don't say it JD, I know you are thinking it. "that could change tomorrow!" Very Happy )

My wife just read a comment on the speech in Charlotte saying it was the best speech he has made in the entire campaign. I do hope it is a signal for the better. Time will tell... Smile C6th! it could be worse! Smile

He needs to become that guy he told us about, the guy that "can be so presidential, you won't believe it", not just today but for 90 days. Its late August though, nobody this far behind has ever won before. But then he is running against a horrible opponent (and visa versa). We'll see. At this point I'm just hoping it can be close enough to maintain majorities in congress. Golf Cart Mafia Consigliere

That was July, show me late August and show me an average, not just one poll. I'm not saying it can't be done, its just not the norm (and yes I did read that its never been done from THIS point, not July, but that article could have missed something and admittedly I actually have work to do and can't go research every historical poll right now). But then 2 bozos not worthy to be in charge of my lawn-care have never been the major party candidates before either. Golf Cart Mafia Consigliere

I guess narrow lead = this far behind to some.

One poll, lets go by average which is more like 7, but look at the real picture, the Electoral College, and you get a better idea, with states like Georgia neck and neck and Texas with only a 6 pt lead (should be 15+, and Colorado and other "swing states" not even close. Yeah, he's far behind). Do you think that he made yet another shake-up in his campaign just because it's fun? It does look the polls may be getting tighter and I hope that translates into not losing the majorities in congress.

Electoral College Clinton Trump Spread
RCP Electoral Map 272 154 Clinton +118
No Toss Up States 362 176

Oh, then Bernie Sanders beat Hillary and will be President.

I think you're mistaking enthusiasm (something the Trumpers have), for votes. You don't have to be enthused and go to a rally to vote (I haven't been enthused in years, yet I vote). Nobody is enthused about Hillary, yet her voters will turn up to get their freebies.
