We Have Lost Our Way As A Nation |
MI6 |
The following face book post was borrowed from a COG Pastor in the USA
Powerful thought
#########################################
We Have Lost Our Way.
Hitler, Stalin & Mao are laughing today because of the way that
Americans have so willingly surrendered their freedoms and liberties at the governments “recommendationsâ€.
Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Adams, Madison and Monroe are asking each other WHY did they live and die to create a Republic that we would just throw away in 60 days in the name of Safety.
Did anyone “think†to ask - was there another way to handle the response to the Virus ? OR is America just running on emotion?
Americans of every political persuasion have not trusted the government since the 1960’s... so why are we trusting the government now?
Have we forgotten our on History of Small Pox, Chicken Pox, measles, mumps, Polio and Rubella? Did we shut down a nation ? Did we sink our Nation 2 Trillion Dollars further into debt?
Have we forgotten John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Viet Nam, Nixon, Watergate and the CIA?
As Billy Joel said -
We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it...
So what has changed ?
America’s resolve has changed.
We are no longer a Nation of Exceptional Patriots... but,
a nation of fearful people that are hiding in our homes, shaking in the shadow of a virus and increasingly dependent on a Nanny State Government.
Will we ever go back to “Normal
I hope not!
We need a Revival of Patriotism and
National Exceptionalism. We need to grow from this and become a better people, a better nation.
We Are Better than this.
We Can Be better than this.
I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery." Thomas Jefferson |

Since the Bible is true and contains the Holy Scripture...
America MUST fall!
Why?
Because ALL man made nations will fall...
Only ONE Kingdom will outlast them all...
The Kingdom of the Coming Christ Jesus!
That is exceptionalism and patriotism.
I am a citizen of that country and city-- whose builder and maker is God!
Mourn for America, but don't mourn long! Be blessed! _________________ Proverbs 3:5-6; John 13:34-35; Acts 1:8 |

Maybe we need a revival of humility. America will not remain top dog forever. Britain did not, and consider how great their empire was. Our nation needs to repent; we need to humble ourselves before God and learn to trust in Him. _________________ Link |

fellowship with oneness folk or vice versa. ...or what is the initial evidence? I have seen COG's break fellowship because one member had a slit down their skirt. |

I too lament the things in the OP, our country has indeed fallen far from the ideas that made us great. I believe God can use this time to get us to slow down and rediscover what is truly important in life and turn back to Him. |

It not about conviction any more |
famousflavius |
It's not about living by our convictions anymore, its about yielding to whatever is the most convenient. America is now poised to accept allegiance to a system based on the nature of a beast. Cosmic indifference to the individual and moral bias to the greater good of the planet.
People are now conditioned to accept a required mark that will link them to the hive mind of a new world system of economics and false security. The nominal christian will gladly accept a mark if it means they can go shopping without a wallet or the inconvenience of credit card.
The nominal christian will happily oblige the politically correct rules of LBGQT leadership if it means they can receive a universal basic income that includes free health care. All conviction to following an antiquated idea of a living God has been relinquished to the convenience of a UBI and access to the latest approved vaccination.
If you have to trade your God for a vaccination in order to buy your children some food, I dare say most will go along with the crowd. Welcome to the new world order of things.
God always had and will always have a remnant of true believers. Will you stand to be counted as one? |

The guy's wrong |

THE SKY IS FALLING!
Hogwash.
We haven't thrown away ANY liberties. There are simply some people who agree that with an infectious disease going about, it is wise to not go to places where there are a number of people.
Period.
It has NOTHING to do with Constitutional Liberties. It's about like saying that if there is a tornado coming down the road and people are told to shelter in place, that someone who is "boldly" defending their constitutional rights, walks outside anyway.
The best you can hope in such cases is that the guy who went outside is blown away. Hopefully to another country. Because he's an idiot...and in the case of coronavirus, while I don't care if HE catches it, he will likely give it to someone who did try to do the right thing.
I cannot believe we are trying to act like this is a constitutional issue. It's not. It's called commonsense. |

nope, common sense is that a quarantine is where you lock up sick people, not when you shutdown most business and lock up the healthy instead of simply establishing proper conditions in which to work (distancing, hygiene, masks, etc..). There has been nothing sensible in the way this has been handled at all, and when the lawsuits over this come to the Supreme Court, there is no chance that these measures will stand. |

You do realize that you can be asymptomatic and still spread the virus. So I'm not really sure how you allow for that.
You may not show any signs of being sick and still spread it to other people. |

Exactly...
What UncleJD proposes can be achieved this with diligent testing and tracing, in which you quarantine sick people and the people they have been in contact with. This is what other countries have done successfully, and it is a part of the WH's plan to re-open the country. But we're not there yet in terms of capabilities. We're working on getting there, but reopening without those capabilities in place will bring the potential for a disastrous second wave. |
