WE were in NC for a HS reunion and missed the excitement. Son Mark spent the night in our home in Deltona. He lost power in the heavy winds during the night. BUT the only damage was one section of privacy Fence which he fixed before heading to Port Richie to check on his home and the ground surge.
At his house he found no damage. He is 100 yards from the gulf salt water and around 20-25 miles north of TAmpa. Of course he has no power, but that is minor. He sent a picture of a small statue of 'his guardian angel' which is sitting atop his wrought Iron gate, but not attached. It wasn't moved by the winds.
No I don't believe the little statue protected his home, but our associate pastor did pray for those in it's path, I had mentioned they had a member directly in the path. Others prayed, some on here. Thanks.
I do hate the extensive damage for others, I hope they had insurance, we do not carry insurance in Florida, never have. We had hurricane damage twice, we were able to repair it much less than 3 years of insurance premiums. But I am fortunate to be able to do the work myself. Some OLD folk cannot.
You have to be positive. If the house is destroyed we have a great building lot with Water sewer and electric already paid for. _________________ Some facts but mostly just my opinion!
