Let's stop talking about immigration. Let's talk about ILLEGAL immigration. |

The left wants everyone to think that conservatives are trying to keep out any and all immigrants. No, they aren't. It's a low-life lie told in order to try to force concessions.
From now on, we need to use the term "illegal immigration" when we are speaking of the wall or immigration reform. Don't allow the Democrats to co-opt this issue by using false terms. |

The only problem with that is that the left has determined that "illegal immigrant" is an offensive term. The correct nomenclature is now "undocumented immigrant", which is all you will ever see in the mainstream media.
It's a great example of how you can control a discussion by controlling the language. "Undocumented immigrant" sounds like someone who just hasn't gotten around to completing all the forms yet. And we all know how bad government forms can be, am I right guys? You sound like a real jerk for being opposed to undocumented immigrants. But you're also a real jerk if you try to call them anything else.
Of course, the reality is that a particular immigrant could be the nicest person in the entire world, he/she is still illegal/criminal on the basis of having broken the law when he/she crossed the border. It seems that the right has done a good job holding onto the phrase "illegal immigrant", and I agree that they should continue to do so. |
