GO Installation Ceremony |
Quiet Wyatt |
Maybe it’s just how things are done, and I’m genuinely a big fan of the GO, but to my mind, the GO Installation Ceremony was kind of weird. It almost seemed like a Masonic ritual to me. Isn’t it enough to be elected, give a speech and to receive applause from the GA? It was my first time seeing this ceremony, and I just didn’t know what to think. When did the CoG start doing this?
Also, the pledge of loyalty seemed a bit strange to me as well. We all know the CoG leadership hasn’t always been loyal to GOs, such as with Tomlinson and with Bob White for instance. It seems to me we ought to pledge our loyalty to Jesus Christ alone. We have no king but Jesus. Honor to whom honor is due, and respect to whom respect is deserved, of course. |

It seemed off to me as well.
Perhaps if it was a new job - but presenting a gavel to a guy who used a gavel all week prior?
Seemed more Queen Elizabeth than humble servant to me.

Does a re-elected President have another inauguration? Same thing, not sure what’s so hard to figure out. It was a beautiful ceremony. |
