Trump should ask Ryan to step down as Convention Chair and have either Gingrich or Huckabee |
doyle |
Ryan has said if Trump asks him to, he will step down as Chairman of the Republican Convention. Many have accused Trump and Ryan both of not being conservatives. There is some truth to that.
My recommendation is for Trump to accept Ryan's offer to step down as Chair and ask either Huckabee or Gingrich, or both, to serve as Chair and Co-Chair of the Convention. Both men are definitely conservatives and would help Trump with conservatives. Either them or Pat Buchanan.
Or, since it will be necessary to work with Ryan after the election if Trump wins, find some role for Ryan at the Convention so he does not feel he has been cast aside completely.
Whachathink?

He has already been cast aside. After observing trumps past , Anyone who challenges Bankrupt Donald is automatically put on his garbage list.
Right now the republicans are looking for ways to bring the party together , bankrupt donald could care less about the party and America is now seeing this by his own admission.
It really wont matter in a few months , Trumps mouth is costing him dearly as time marches on. |

Doyle, once stupid things like handing the party to Trump and a bunch of twice-failed lackeys fails utterly, in fact, once it finishes the Republican party, I hope you take it like a man instead of blaming everyone else who didn't agree with you. You're welcome to take some credit for your support if it works out for you. |

Paul Ryan has done everything in his power to undermine the Tea Party and conservatism. And you wonder why Trump wants to reject him? Amazing. Others have been calling for his ouster long before Trump did. _________________ "It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves UPCI |

Those two sentences have nothing to do with each other. Trump is against Ryan because Ryan didn't immediately express support for Trump and because Ryan suggested that it's Trump's job to unite the party. |

Not so fast.
Tea Party not a fan of Boehner or Ryan - that is true.
Ryan will fall on his sword over open borders - if Trump doesn't cave - he won't support. Ryan expects Trump to cave. Ryan demands Trump cave to get Ryan's support. Republicans always cave...just like McCain and Kemp and Dole always caved.
If Trump caves, I won't support him.

What do you mean 'cave'? Trump used foreign workers in his resort in Florida when he could have used US workers. That is the kind of open border Ryan wants. So why would Trump have to cave? He already has demonstrated that he supports that. |

Bonnie stop it!! We have to go by his words! He says things that make us happy! We can't look at his record! We can't even listen to his words if they go against the words we like! |

The co-chair is a really bad idea. I don't think that's gonna' work, especially not with such a large event that has to be put together relatively quickly and so many things that need to be decided on. _________________ Link |

He always does what is best for his business. Why is that a problem?
He didn't make the open border rule - but learned how to exploit it.
Any good businessperson does the same.
Any bad one goes out of business.
I believe he will do what is best for America when he becomes President.

Doesn't a Republican usually believe that what is best for America IS what is best for business? |

Thank you UncleJD |

It is most gracious of you to allow me to take credit if things go well. How could anyone ask for more .
Actually, I think all the upheaval going on is good for the political process. Politicians who are entrenched, out of touch, and condescending to the people who elected them, should be thrown out of office.
History does seem to repeat itself. Those who are opposed to the establishment, may uproot them and thereby become the establishment. It's an ongoing process.
Where have I been rude to those who disagree with some of my deeply wise political advice? UncleJD, who posts on a board I began and administer, disagrees with me while at the same time, claiming that I don't allow people to disagree with me.
Blessings to you UncleJD. Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion. But no, there is no requirement that posters agree with me nor is there recrimination when they don't. Oh wait! Is that a dark helicopter over your house? Just kidding.
Thanks Bro for the exchange. Blessings.

Any time Doyle I hope that last part wasn't to me, I've never said you don't allow people to disagree with you. If we all agreed on everything, then there wouldn't be a need to ever post anything again. LOL
.. the "blaming those who disagree with you" in my post was in general about Trump and his supporters, not about the board. |
