Post Holiness and men's attire? Old Time Country Preacher
We all know that historically, the good lady folk got the brunt a most all the modest dress kinda preachin. I mean the ole timer has done heard it all:

Womin cant wear pants
Womin cant shave their legs
Womin must wear stockins
Womin can't wear split skirts
Womin cant wear jewelry
Womin cant wear makeup
Womin can't bob their hair

What about the men folk? Are they no modesty guidelines fer them?

Men can wear jewelry (as long as it tells time, holds a tie or cuffs)
Men cant wear makeup

I regularly watch the videos put out by Esther Emery who has never shaved her legs, and she's pretty cool.
That could be a real time saver.

That's cool and all for Esther, but I don't think it's anyone's business whether or not I shave my legs! Except maybe my husband, who doesn't seem to care. LOL

Post I guess we're going to have to discuss the latest trend-- (L) bonnie knox
Rompers for men?

Ole Timer, this might be worse than skinny jeans.

Maybe we can get c6th and all his photo shop skills to get a picture of Charles Page in one of those polka dot rompers. (Just kidding!)

Post Nature Boy Florida
Rompers, chubbies, thongs...absolutely sin for a man to wear.

Ask 'em 'er far baptized Holness folk. They'll set ya' up with a right purdy list 'a rules.

1. Men must wear long sleeved shirts outside of the house.
2. Must must not wear neck ties.
3. Men must not wear a wrist watch.
4. Men must not wear gold.
5. Men may use a silver pocket watch.

I'm not sure whether 2 is still in force, but Irwin was quoted as saying he'd rather have a rattle snake around his neck than a tie. Considering some of the snake-handling practices a decade or two later, that sure was an ironic statement.

Post There are some attire issues for men... Aaron Scott
Granted, this was when I was growing up. Today? Well, today, a pastor might even PREACH in this attire...but that just shows you he ain't REAL Church of God!

Couldn't:

Wear shorts.
Wear rings (except for wedding band at some point).
Tie clasps.
Long hair

For uber-conservatives, you couldn't even wear a watch.

The pocket watch was okay, but not the gold chain (in most cases). Embarassed

When I was in my 20's, I walked into an autoparts store in a T-shirt and a pair of long shorts and a plastic wrist watch to buy something. We got onto the topic of church. I went to a Congregational Holiness church. They started talking about the rules at their Fire Baptized Holiness Church.

It was wrong to wear a wrist-watch, they thought, but a pocket watch was okay if it wasn't gold. (I was asking questions.) They said it could be silver. I asked them, so my cheap plastic watch is wrong, but a silver pocket watch is okay?

I found out that one of the guys who worked there drove a yellow corvette. Does modesty apply to things that you don't wear on your body?

It's strange when original intent gets lost in a list of rules.
