The problem is anybody can interpret scripture to suit their cause. When the COG says that we believe in the whole Bible, rightly divided, who is doing the dividing? Who decides what interpretation is correct? We already see a doctrine called “initial evidence†that has no direct scripture backing it up. So......good luck! 🤣 |

I think every Christian should study the doctrine of divine election. Whether you believe in it or not, it will benefit you. Paul says in Romans 11 that the sovereignty of God in election is a mystery. But that mystery should not produce despair, but rather awe and wonder!
Some scoff because they believe it violates the integrity of God. On the contrary, in that same passage Paul lauds the mercy of God (Romans 11:32). From the Apostles’ perspective, they had left all to follow Jesus. This was obvious because they were constantly arguing about who would be the greatest. But Jesus offered them some perspective when He said “you have not chosen me, but I have chosen you ..†|
