Post not smart enough wayne
I posted this in a Post that Brother James listed:

Our church has noticed an influx of Catholics over the past year. One gentleman who is 72 years old came to me after I finished preaching this past Sunday. He said "Pastor, I have been in the Catholic faith my whole life and it's only been since coming to this church that I have truly felt accepted by God." He said "I feel loved and truly feel my past sins are forgiven." That made me almost cry.

Another gentleman who is the education director for the Catholic diocese and reports to the Arch Bishop of our area said, he has never felt so much enthusiasm and love from any church. He is afraid to tell the Bishop he has been attending our church for fear he will lose his job.

Our church is being blessed greatly but I've noticed the more blessings we receive the more I feel insecure. We have CFO's, business leaders, people who are education directors, Business managers, business owners, people from other faiths, etc. Because of these blessings, I feel stretched and uncomfortable.

I only have about 3 years of college and of course I have completed all the COG training but I at times feel unprepared.

Have any of you felt this way? If so, how did you handle it?

Not seeking pity just help.

Wayne, I think it is good that you don't feel "smart enough"

As long as you feel that way, you will be totally dependent on the Holy Spirit.
He is smarter than all of us! Expect GREATER things also...

A PHD that does not depend on the HS is a D-U-D IMHO Smile

Not many folk could have said it better, I had relatively the same thoughts when I read the post. Cool

Exciting report! Just remember its The Lord that adds to the church, not you, its on Him! Its likely that the humility and love IS what is drawing them. They obviously had the "smart" side where they came from and that's not doing it for them. Golf Cart Mafia Consigliere

One plants, another waters, God gives the increase!

It's His Church! You sound humble and reliant on Him!

Promotion comes from the Lord! God resists the proud!

Stay at His feet! Great report! Love reading it.

Don't ever beat yaself up over what you posted above, wayne. You got 3 years a legitimate college. You got a heap a COG training. If God opens the door fer further trainin an all, take advantage a all ya can. If not, use what God has give ya an he will continue to anoint ya life.

Where so many preacher boys go wrong is when they are in a place in life where they aint got much legitimate formal trainin (whether undergrad, grad, postgrad, counseling, etc.) they go the route of a degree/counseling mill, or some slipshod unaccredited place where ya can git a degree in 3 months, an commence claimin credentials that aint worth the paper its printed on. You, wayne, HAVE NOT done that. Which means you got a heap more integrity than a lot a our fellers walkin around claimin docterates.

Hey, don't ever let nobody shame ya. Give what ya got to the good Lord an he'll use it fer his glory.

Post I appreciate it wayne
Thank you all for the encouragement.

Have any of you battled in your mind with thoughts like this? If so, how did you handle it and what was the outcome?

Help me because, I am trying to help someone else.
I have a great guy in our church who is going through the CAMS program right now. He is a great guy, phenomenal at jail ministry but truly needs some learn'in. He had a great time at the first session but is already feeling overwhelmed. Some of you smarter fellers tell me what to say to him to help him get through this.

YES, I have felt like what you describe. And I dealt with it by focusing on my call (God called me, I didn't choose ministry on my own) and striving, through the help of the Lord, to be the best the ole timer could be. Through God's help, one day at a time, I persevered. Again, take advantage of every trainin opportunity ya have, READ incessantly, don't let anybody define your value/worth, God has already done at when he called ya.
