Post I guess someone has to be blamed Hill Poover
The AB just does what he wants appointing a pastor disregarding the wishes of the people, so when the people of that church leave because they are mad at the AB and how things were handled why does the pastor of the church they choose to go to get the blame? They are going to go somewhere so it would be foolish for our pastor to turn them away. At least that's how I see it. Newbie

That does happen. But the receiving pastor Cannot and will not refuse to request membership transfers. We as members have a right to attend the church we most comfortable. We watched a mid Florida church die, disband and the church was sold, under the same circumstances. I really think the vote should be more than a 'preference vote.' Idea It should mean something to the Overseer. Funny that, for years we members thought the vote was actually diplomatic, and meant something. Shocked

A truism:

If. Church grows, God gets the glory. If it doesn't, the pastor gets the blame.

Care to cite a particular case in which the aforementioned practice has been done?
