I know a guy whom the pastor asks to give a little talk before the receiving of the offering (at a little country COG in NC). One time he talked about being a "cheerful" giver. He said there was a man who told the doctor his advice was great. "I've been cheerful and got a hot mama."
"No," the doctor replied. "What I said was be careful you have a heart murmur."
So my friend read the verse about God loving a cheerful giver and asked the congregation if they were careful givers or cheerful givers.
