Hey Doyle,
Hear is a close 2nd or 3rd, IMO. The title, "Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore".

My uncle, who is 95, has become a bit of a story-teller in his older years. He talks about his friendship with George Jones and playing on the same stage with Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. One of Johnny Cash's guitarists (the brother of the one who'd formerly been his guitarist) taught my uncle some picking. _________________ Link |

Ole Timer, ya just need ta git in touch with yer inner hound dog. Sometimes them lectric guitars in at ole rock music don't sound like nothin more than yowlin cats.
Theys more ta life than cats, that's all I'm a sayin. |

Sometimes it's good to be sad and cry and groan and moan. Few things are as therapeutic as a good cry. Old time country music is almost perfectly designed to facilitate that. (Sometimes one has to wonder if OTCP really is old-timey). |

Wyatt, I'm in partial agreement with ya. Sometimes a feller does need a good weepin session, but I git mine around a old fashioned altar. Ifn it takes some a that ole beer-singin, hand-wringin, snot-slingin George Jones, Ernest Tubb, Hank Sr, kinda music, hey, I aint ever gonna cry again. We had some neighbors one time what would crank up the record player on Sat nights an play at kinda mess real loud. We had a ole blue tick hound name "Slim" that ever time he heard it, he would run in his dog house an commence growlin/barkin till the music stopped. At ole dog had more sense than ma neighbors. |
