Yep when the camp meeting first commenced, they had no sound equipment. Once technology become available, hey, the decibel level needed fer a successful an anointed camp meetin rose exponentially.

I agree that noise levels are often uncomfortable. What I find even more disconcerting is that many camp meetings are nothing more than clergy coaching sessions. I do believe clergy needs to be affirmed and encouraged, but I see fewer laity in attendance each year. That is alarming to me.
