Yes and on this thanksgiving that is another thing to be thankful for.
1. They keep the mice population down. God made them too!
2. They give you a warning when you are too close!
Thank God for rattlesnakes! 
Oh and some people eat them...taste like chicken or turkey I hear |

Funny thing that. Once hiking in Montana I was forced to kill a big Rattler (to keep him from reducing the human population). We hiked about a hundred yards on, and I said to mywife, "I have never ate Rattler, I am going back to get that dude and cook him this evening." She waited, walking back to the spot I saw a big Eagle swoop down and get my supper. I still ain't had Rattler!"
