Post How often do you observe Communion? Da Sheik
How often do you observe Communion at your respective churches? Growing up, my pastor was very much into spontaneity and not much into planning anything. We rarely ever took Communion corporately.

I know there are no rules as to how often we should do this, but I think it's good to be intentional about it. It's a great blessing for the parishioners to be able to participate.

Post Quiet Wyatt
We generally partake of communion with footwashing together on Easter, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, and on New Year's Eve.

Footwashing not an ordinance in our fellowship and I think Jesus teaching on servant leadership is an allegory not a mandate like the lord's supper or water baptism. Just my hermaneutics otcp. Yours is flawed. Laughing Laughing just kidding but only partially. Acts-celerater

I say this smiling. It seems that more folk are observing the Lord's supper. I think about every third or forth church we visit is doing it. 'tis good! Cool

Not to hijack, but may I recommend a fresh reading of that passage? I think way more than Servant Leadership is going on in that passage.

Post Resident Skeptic
Is observing communion the same as taking communion, or is it only observing other people taking it? Laughing
