My wife voted for Pense :) |
Methocostal |
My wife and I voted yesterday. She said she looked at the ballot for a long time wrestling on what to do. She finally voted--for Pense
I guess that is a pretty good way to look at it. It was extremely difficult, and I am NOT proud, but I voted for Trump also. Well, I guess I voted against the Democrat.
Unfortunately, if one votes for Hillary and if her health is truly precarious (I've heard she may not survive her first term due to health), we still get a liberal demo for President. At least her VP is more likeable, but at the end of the day, he is still a liberal with a nicer appeal.
With Trump, at least we have a decent VP to step in. |

Here's something I've been thinking about:
Suppose Trump does get in. Then he does something crazy and the Democrats threaten impeachment. How motivated would Republicans be to prevent it?
They have Pense waiting in the wings. I don't know if impeachment proceedings would happen but it may make Trump think before he does something rash. Just thinking. |

If the Republicans elect a President that gets impeached, do you think they'll win another election any time soon? We'd be better off with 4 years of Hillary and a gridlocked congress to thwart her. If Trump wins, we better pray that he is able to hold it together. |

Maybe you're right but I would think that depends on how well Pense would do. This is especially since Trump is not exactly the favorite candidate for many Repub congressmen. |

Any in case, in my scenario, even if Trump didn't think before acting they would still have Pence. And then you would have to weigh Trump's antic's against an impeachment. Which would be worst? Hmmm, again the dilemna. :/
But I just thought I'd throw this idea out there. All this is speculative. It may not work that way.
Perhaps, more toward the OP, I would like to think Pense would have a settling influence over Trump. Not that Trump is easily influenced. But he does seem to have done well in choosing a running mate. And he's said he would surround himself with qualified people. Listen I'm not necessarily pitching for Trump. I'm just saying, if Trump does get in.... |
