Post Christie - - Typical c6thplayer1
And he had the gaul to stand before the American People as an Honest Politician?

Quote:
This past week, he and New Jersey legislators cut a devilish deal. A state law would be waived so Christie could profit from writing a book. In return, the obese governor would sign off on a pay raise for state elected officials.

The New York Post is a liberal rag not worthy of me wiping my rear-end with it.

What does him being obese have to do with anything in this deal?

Post Didn't you know Redneck, Ernie Long
that being overweight makes for an easy target to put down and belittle people? After all, according to some on here and facebook, all overweight people are gluttons. Rolling Eyes

Getting rid of laws that keep governors from writing books and profiting doesn't sound corrupt to me.

This part to me sounded weird.

Christie proposed that the state should not have to take out ads to announce certain legal actions. This would cut into newspaper revenues and cost jobs.

If you change your name in Hawaii, you have to advertize it in a state-wide newspaper, which costs hundreds of dollars. It's rough on women who get married and want to change their name. That's the state law I'm familiar with on requiring newspaper ads. Getting rid of such laws sounds great, especially since ads on the Internet are free. How about advertising stuff on a state website?

I don't care much about newspaper revenues.

The point being , Christie had to offer pay raises for the few that opposed the bill so that the votes would tilt in his favor so he could change the law and pad his own pockets with his book.

I guess the obese part was just a slam from a disgusted journalist.
